Nadia Malik
MD Youth Facilitation Coordinator
Nadia (they/them) serves as the Maryland middle school youth facilitation coordinator at AALEAD. As a second and third generation Pakistani American raised in Cleveland Ohio, they are committed to supporting youth in building connections, fostering community care, and personal growth. As an artist, they are excited about bringing art and different types of creative expression into the classroom to help students explore their identity, strengths and passions.
Before AALEAD, Nadia worked at Miriam's Kitchen for two years as an advocacy specialist. They advocated for more housing resources to be allocated to our unhoused neighbors along with organizing to prevent encampment evictions in DC. Their commitment to social justice and supporting their community extends outside the workplace as Nadia organized in other groups such as The Community Care Collective and taught ceramic classes at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop.
Nadia holds an B.A. in Legal Studies with a minor in Sociology and a M. A. from American University in Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management. When they are not at AALEAD Nadia enjoys swimming, ceramics, cooking, and learning about astrology.
