Michelle Gung
Mentoring & Volunteer Coordinator
Michelle Gung (she/hers) serves as the Mentoring and Volunteer Coordinator at Asian American LEAD (AALEAD). As someone who has greatly benefitted from her own mentors’ guidance, she aims to support youth with their social-emotional skills through the mentoring program.
Before joining AALEAD, Michelle managed the individual donor portfolio at Advancing Justice - AAJC where she researched and cultivated donor relationships to develop a robust individual giving program. Prior Advancing Justice - AAJC, she worked as an immigration policy fellow at NAKASEC, oversaw the GRoW community garden, and interned at ONE DC to organize long time DC residents around housing.
Michelle holds a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Sustainability from the George Washington University. During her time there, she was heavily involved with the Ultimate Frisbee team, G-dub Ultimate, and GWU Asian American Student Association (AASA), creating community for Asian American students, and organizing for Asian American studies and for a better world.
