Joyce Li
VA Youth Facilitation Coordinator
Joyce Li (she/hers) is AALEAD’s Youth Facilitation Coordinator for high school youths in Virginia. Joyce is committed to education advocacy, building positive relationships with youths through approaching principles of culturally relevant pedagogy and social justice and how they are integrated into curriculum and after-school spaces.
As an undergraduate at Wellesley College (Wellesley, MA), Joyce focused on history and education studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. At Wellesley, Joyce served as co-president of Wellesley’s two campus organizations, Chamber Music Society and Wellesley for UNICEF, where she gained incredible insight into fostering leadership, community building, and creativity. Joyce is also dedicated to serving the community and working with community-based grassroots organizations through her time as an Alternative Break Coordinator with Wellesley’s Civic Engagement program.
With her experience as a first-generation immigrant, Joyce is dedicated to creating culturally just spaces where all voices can thrive. She currently resides in Virginia with her husband and their silly little dog.
