Dr. Fatima Baig
Programs Director
Dr. Fatima Baig has spent more than half a decade working to improve the lives of underrepresented youth in schools, with a focus on providing equitable education for people with special needs. A former K-12 educator in D.C. and Philadelphia, Dr. Baig has experience with public, private, and charter schools, along with a doctorate in Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy from Drexel University, and currently serves as the Programs Director with AALEAD.
A native of Michigan, Dr. Baig is a second-generation Pakistani American and holds additional academic degrees in Early Childhood, Special Education, Public Administration, and Spanish. As a dedicated educational equity advocate and community member, Dr. Baig was selected to the Washington Teachers Union Teacher Leader Fellowship, EmpowerEd Advocacy Teacher Representation Fellowship, and the New Leaders Council Fellowship and served two years on the board of the Mayor’s Millennial Advisory Committee in Philadelphia. Dr. Baig’s academic research interests include antiracism, critical race theory, professional development, teacher representation, and the South Asian diaspora.
Dr. Baig is deeply passionate about empowering the voices and access to opportunity for all youth, particularly those who identify as BIPOC, through representation, strategic programming, and policy.
